Work Experience:

Founder/Designer
Geofrey Collins Living Designs
April 2009 – Present (15 years 9 months) | Los Angeles, CA
Following 15 successful years leading SCO Studio, I launched Geofrey Collins Living Designs to focus on a more intentional and specialized approach to design. This venture emphasizes Green Community Planning, Permaculture, Sustainable Technology, and Natural, Handcrafted Organic Building—bringing together thoughtful design, sustainability, and craftsmanship.

Project Planner
Red Lightning
2009 – 2013 (4 years) | Various Locations
I was responsible for designing site plan layouts and key structures for a traveling village of over 200 people. Collaborating with a dedicated team, we promoted conscious living and gender alchemy through intentional design. Depending on the project, my role ranged from erecting a 3,000-square-foot Yoga Sanctuary to creating multi-functional spaces for healing, workshops, and community gatherings, all thoughtfully integrated around camping, shower, and dining facilities—especially during events on the playa.

Founder & CEO
SCO Studio
July 1994 – September 2009 (15 years 3 months) Los Angeles, CA
SCO Studio specialized in new home design, multi-use developments, and multi-family housing, delivering thoughtful and functional architectural solutions.

Assistant Designer
Frank Gehry and Associates
1993 – 1994 (1 year)
Gained invaluable experience working with one of the most renowned architectural firms. This role inspired me to launch my own design practice shortly thereafter.

Assistant Builder
Earthship Biotecture
1984 – 1986 (2 years)
My architectural journey began under the guidance of Mike Reynolds, the visionary behind Earthship Biotecture. During this time, I embraced the foundational principles of Sustainable, Natural, and Recycled Building—values that continue to inspire my work today.

After earning two degrees in Architecture, I honed my skills with esteemed architects like Frank Gehry, Antoine Predock, and SOM before launching my own practice in 1993. Since then, I have obtained a Permaculture Design Certificate and focused on designing eco-villages and conscious architecture.

My mission is to create sustainable, socially just designs that educate and inspire, showcasing the possibilities of living in beautiful, self-sustaining spaces.
